Warpaint, Khalid highlight 2017 Twilight Concert Series

The 2017 Twilight Concert Series returns to the Santa Monica Pier this year, and has announced a heavy-hitting lineup, featuring L.A. indie rockers Warpaint and rising hip-hop act Khalid, among others.

Warpaint will be opening for Depeche Mode later this year at the Hollywood Bowl, so it will be nice to be able to catch their own headlining gig in southern California later this year, and a free one to boot! They play the Pier on August 17. They are playing the best shows of their careers at the moment as they tour the festival circuit, including killer sets at Coachella and Shaky Knees. I’m lucky enough to be catching them several more times on the circuit at Hangout, Governors Ball, and Bonnaroo.

Khalid is a fast-rising 19-year-old R&B singer who has featured on tracks from Calvin Harris, Logic, and Alina Baraz among others. He’s certainly someone to catch before he begins headlining large theaters in the not-too-distant theater.

Other shows on the schedule include Lemaitre and Coast Modern (June 29), Miami Horror and Cleopold (July 27), and Valerie June and Irma Thomas (August 3). Check out the full schedule below:
