Alvvays share new song, new album due in September

Canadian power-pop group Alvvays have finally announced the follow-up to their critically-acclaimed debut album — and have shared a new song to go with the announcement.

Their new record is called Antisocialites, and is due September 8 via Polyvinyl Records. It’s been three years since their self-titled record landed and blew everyone away and we are more than ready. The lead single from the record is called “In Undertow”, and it is a return to the dreamy synthpop they are known for. Give the song a listen below:

I got a chance to see Alvvays play at Fortress Festival back at the end of April, and there they played a number of songs from their new record. My favorite of the bunch was “Dreams Tonite”, and “Your Type” was equally strong. September can’t come soon enough.

Alvvays will play in the area a few weeks after the new record drops with a set at Long Beach’s Music Tastes Good Festival on September 30. You can also catch them earlier on the festival circuit at Lollapalooza, along with a Lollapalooza after-show August 5 (already sold out).
