Anderson Paak project NxWorries announce new album

Anderson Paak has been blowing up like no other with a banner 2016. The uphill climb just keeps on going — Paak’s side project with legendary beat master Knxwledge called NxWorries will drop a full album in October.

Appropriately titled Yes Lawd! — the record will drop October 21 via Stones Throw. They’ve shared the first song from the record, titled “Lyk Dis.” I bet you’ll be excited for this new album as I am after giving it a listen. Paak’s vocals are smooth as better, especially on the catchy chorus.

Anderson Paak released his breakthrough second record Malibu this January to critical acclaim. He’s signed to Dre’s Aftermath label. He put on two memorable Coachella performances and delivered probably the best NPR Tiny Desk concert of the year. He’s showed no signs of slowing down and is, along with Chance the Rapper, the brightest young star in hip-hop today.

Anderson Paak’s ascent was in no small part helped by his collaboration with Knxwledge. Their debut EP as NxWorries featured the song “Suede” — which is so full of swag. That is the song that helped catch Dre’s attention when he was recording his Compton album, which led to Paak appearing on a half dozen songs from the record.

Anderson Paak has a sold-out show at the Hollywood Palladium on December 10. Tickets sold out in an hour. I’d expect he’ll be playing a song or two from his NxWorries side project at that show.
