Are you ready to feel some feels? You should be. Angel Olsen will return to Los Angeles early in 2017.
The burgeoning singer-songwriter will play the Wiltern on Tuesday, February 14. The show is in support of her magnificent third record My Woman (via Jagjaguwar), which came out at the start of this month.
We’ve seen Olsen bring her moody tunes to the El Rey and a variety of festivals over the past few years. She’s built on the success of her last great record, Burn Your Fire for No Witness with the newest one. My Woman sees Olsen expand her sound as she goes in a little bit more of a pop direction. “Shut Up Kiss Me” is our favorite track, though the whole album kills. She’s even gone on to direct all the music videos for the songs from the latest album. Check the video out for “Shut Up, Kiss Me” below.
As a live performer, she’s able to stun a crowd into silence then move right into a sing-along style jam without any issue. She’s even able to break up some of the stretches of emotional output with funny stage banter.
Tickets to the Wiltern show are priced at $25.00 and go on sale Friday, September 16 at 10 AM Pacific Time. There is a LiveNation pre-sale, the code is SPOTLIGHT. Doors open at 7 PM. We implore you to check her out in her biggest LA show to date.
