Big Thief tour includes Bootleg, Fonda dates in May

Brooklyn-bred indie folk band Big Thief are kicking off 2019 with a band. The four-piece announced their upcoming third studio album with their new label 4AD and have added a couple of LA dates to their upcoming spring and summer tour.

The new album from Big Thief is called U.F.O.F. and will drop May 3. Earlier this week they dropped the lead single, called “UFOF”. Lead singer and songwriter Adrianne Lenker’s wispy vocals are at the forefront of this track, with percussion that will have you bopping your head. Give the new track a listen below.

Big Thief will play what amounts to two album-release gigs in Los Angeles in May when the record is dropping. First, they’ll play an all-ages gig Thursday, May 2 at the Bootleg Theater with Jolie Holland opening. On Friday, May 3, they’ll play a headline gig at the Fonda Theatre with Victoria Williams. You can find their full tour dates at the bottom of this post. We caught them at last year’s Music Tastes Good Festival in Long Beach and witnessed a serene set. Don’t miss out on them this spring!

Tickets to the Bootleg Theater gig on May 2 are $29.50. Doors open at 8:30 PM. Tickets to the Fonda Theatre gig on May 3 are $25.00 with doors opening at 8 PM. Both shows go on sale Friday, March 1 at 10 AM Pacific Time.
