Billie Eilish drops new song “Bellyache,” catch at CRSSD

15-year old rising pop star Billie Eilish has dropped a new song this week, just in time for her performance at next weekend’s CRSSD Fest.

Titled “Bellyache,” the song features a simple acoustic guitar melody with her enchanting vocals over the top. She’s drawn comparisons to Lana Del Rey in the past, but on this track she sounds more like pop superstar MØ. The chorus, which features Eilish chant “Where’s my mind?” before a groovy bass drops behind her answering “Maybe it’s in the gutter/Where I left my lover,” proof that the young teen has probably already broken a heart or two. Listen to the song below:

The song clocks in at a radio-friendly 2:59 and was written in her bedroom with brother and collaborator Finneas O’Connell in their Los Angeles home.

“When I write, I try to become different characters,” Eilish said in a press release. “You can write a song about being in love with someone, but you don’t have to be in love with anyone. You can write a song about killing someone, but you don’t have to have killed people. ‘Bellyache’ is about doing one of those things but it’s mostly about regret and guilt.” She continues. “Becoming a character can be really fun; to put yourself in a place you would never really be.”

Catch Billie Eilish next weekend at CRSSD Fest — her only 2017 performance currently on the schedule.
