The Boston Calling 2017 lineup is here, and it’s worth looking forward to.
Headlining the spring edition of the festival are Tool, Mumford & Sons, and Chance the Rapper. It takes place over Memorial Day Weekend from May 26 to May 28 at a new location — Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, Mass.
Also notable on the bill are Bon Iver, The xx, Major Lazer, Weezer, The 1975, Sigur Ros, Solange, Cage the Elephant, Run the Jewels, Tegan & Sara, and Sylvan Esso. The bill leans a lot less towards rap and hip-hop than many other 2017 festival bills, instead focusing more on indie favorites.
A Natalie Portman-curated film festival was also supposed to be part of Boston Calling, but was nixed due to conflicting schedules with some of the talent involved. It has now been replaced by a comedy experience hosted by Hannibal Burress, featuring comedians like Pete Holmes, Tig Notaro, Eugene Mirman, and more.
This will be the fifth time the festival has run in the spring. Limited early-bird three-day general admission tickets are priced at $245.00 and are on sale now. Early-bird VIP tickets are priced at $499.00.
