BottleRock Napa 2019 lineup: Neil Young, Mumford & Sons, Imagine Dragons top bill

Jenny Lewis Palladium 2019 mainbar

The BottleRock Napa 2019 lineup is here! Whilst other festivals continue to book fewer and fewer guitar bands, the northern California juggernaut continues to welcome them with open arms.

Headlining the seventh year festival’s lineup are Neil Young & Promise of the Real, Mumford & Sons, and Imagine Dragons. The festival is sure to sell out quickly as it has the past few years since being rescued from the brink by local promoters Latitude 38. LiveNation has recently come on in the past few years, but as Latitude 38’s Dave Graham told us in an interview last year, the indie company retains full control of their booking.

The BottleRock Napa 2019 lineup sees strength in its undercard. Among the top-billed acts are Santana (who I can’t recall playing any major festivals in the past few years), Pharrell Williams, Logic, OneRepublic, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Sylvan Esso, Gary Clark Jr., Tash Sultana, and Lord Huron.

In the smaller print are some other really quality acts. Indie-rock queen Jenny Lewis is a perfect fit for the festival. Michael Franti & Spearhead make their annual trip to the festival. The festival features a good mix of acts that are tearing up alt-rock radio right now like AJR, Bishop Briggs, Sir Sly, and lovelytheband.

Then of course, there’s the unique throwback bookings like Cypress Hill, Flogging Molly, Citizen Cope, Too $hort, as well as Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. BottleRock Napa 2019 also features a good mix of those looking to break out that I can vouch for, like Marian Hill, Gang of Youths, Turkuaz, Vintage Trouble, HalfNoise, Shannon & The Clams, The Regrettes, Welles, and Valley Queen.

Last year I attended BottleRock Napa 2018, the first time I hit the fest since 2015. It’s amazing to see how far it has come in just that short amount of time and its no surprise it’s becoming the crown jewel of northern California.
