Bully’s new song sounds like if Sheryl Crow was grunge

Nashville grunge rockers Bully just dropped the second single from their upcoming sophomore record, and it’s a doozy.

Alicia Borgnano’s voice intersperses from a pretty almost Sheryl Crow-like singing to a gravelly Kurt Cobain scream without even trying. “Running” features more of the same angst we’ve come to expect from Borgnano, though this song features an almost blink-182 like guitar riff as the feature instrumentation. Check it out below:

Bully impressed me numerous times on the festival circuit last year, and I’m bummed that there isn’t an LA date on their lengthy list of upcoming tour dates. The band will however play the Dave Grohl-curated Cal Jam 17 in San Bernardino in October, and you won’t want to miss them.

We wrote about Bully’s first single and you can expect us to keep you posted on any LA dates as soon as they drop. The sophomore record Losing drops October 20 (via Sub Pop). I’m not sure if a band fits a label better than Bully and Sub-Pop, so I’m pretty excited to see what they come up with.
