Cherry Glazerr shares new video, Teragram gig in February

LA indie rockers Cherry Glazerr exploded on the scene with their 2014 full-length debut Haxel Princess. A few years later, we’re starting to hear new material that will come from their first album as twentysomethings — February’s Apocalipstick. It’s extremely promising. A new video for the song “Told You I’d Be With the Guys” has been released and it’s a step forward for the band that first made waves while in high school. The lineup of the band has shuffled a bit but it’s still Clementine Creevy running the ship. Creevy also stars in the video for the new tune.

According to a press release, Creevy wrote the song after realizing she needs to “consciously strive for solidarity with other women in order to combat the sexism that is ingrained in our culture and consequentially within herself.”

Creevy and her band have really grown up in the past few years, something we learned when seeing them live at Burger A-Go-Go and opening for Best Coast in the last year. They have announced a headline date at the Teragram Ballroom on Thursday, February 16.

The song itself features a pretty riveting opening riff before Creevy shouts “I was a lone wolf, I thought I lost my pack.” She’s matured but has maintained her awesome falsetto shout that first drew people’s attention to her band on tracks like “White’s Not My Color This Evening” and the tongue-in-cheek “Grilled Cheese.”

They’ve just signed to Canadian imprint Secretly Canadian in the last few days. The new record drops Friday, January 20. Tickets to their Teragram Ballroom show cost $15.00. Doors are at 7 PM and the show starts at 8 PM.
