Coachella 2018 lineup: Beyonce, Eminem, The Weeknd headline

The Coachella 2018 lineup has finally dropped, and the headliners are no surprise.

After first being reported by Consequence of Sound a few weeks ago, it is now confirmed: Beyonce, Eminem, and The Weeknd will headline this year’s festival on consecutive weekends in April. It marks the first time in the Indio, California festival’s history that there is no rock headliner.

The festival features a lot of intriguing acts below the headliners. Kygo and ODESZA would headline a lot of second-tier festivals. Jamiroquai hasn’t played the U.S. since 2005. Talking Heads frontman David Byrne is an interesting booking. Portugal. The Man are on the second line as we alluded to in our prediction of what Hangout 2018 acts would crossover onto this Coachella lineup (we got six of our eight predictions correct).

Even if you are a big rock fan, it’s not like Coachella 2018 ditches the genre altogether. There’s a lot on the festival’s undercard that caters to the more niche music fans, though the top few lines on each day seem to target mainstream music fans. This is not your mother and father’s Coachella lineup, but there is still a lot to like.

I have attended both weekends the last three Coachellas, but my streak will come to an end in 2018 because one of my best friends is getting married weekend two. But let’s party weekend one!

Passes to Coachella go on sale Friday, January 5 at 12 noon Pacific Time at coachella.com.
