Day Wave shares new song “Untitled” from debut record

Bay Area indie rocker Day Wave (Jackson Phillips) has shared the second single from his upcoming debut album, and it stays in the lo-fi Cure-like lane that he has carved out for himself since arriving on the scene.

“Untitled” is the name of the new track, and it features the same type of jangly guitar that strikes a modern resemblance to The Cure mixed with the power pop inklings of Alvvays.

It’s a chill track with melancholy songwriting with some keyboards that add nice depth. The debut record The Day We Had drops May 5 via Harvest Records and is one birthday present I am looking forward to.

We caught Day Wave a couple of times last year, most recently at the Troubadour where he delivered a memorable headline show. Jackson Phillips and his band will return to Los Angeles on June 28 in the intimate confines of the El Rey. You can also catch them closer to their Bay Area roots at BottleRock in Napa!
