DREAMCAR (AFI, No Doubt) drop song, see at Coachella

DREAMCAR is AFI vocalist Davey Havok and the members of No Doubt that aren’t Gwen Stefani. Their announcement as a band came in the form of their name being on this year’s poster for Coachella, and now two months later we finally have an idea of their sound.

The first single is titled “Kill for Candy,” and dropped Thursday. Their sound carries a heavier ‘80s vibe than anything No Doubt ever previously recorded. Even Havok’s vocals take on a nostalgic sound. It sort of has a The Killers meets Depeche Mode sound.

“There’s an honesty in all of my lyrics,” Havok stated in a press release. “This one speaks to a perhaps dangerous and unhealthy desire for the sweet.” “We’ve had nothing but a great time making this album,” says Tony Kanal. ” I’m so glad our first single is finally out. We can’t wait to play live for everyone.”

DREAMCAR will perform live at The Roxy on Tuesday, April 11 before they take the stage at Coachella. Tickets are already sold out, so if you didn’t grab them, head to the Polo Grounds to see them perform!
