Governors Ball 2019 lineup: The Strokes, Florence + The Machine top bill

The Governors Ball 2019 lineup is here! And it features some familiar faces.

Returning as headliners for the third time are The Strokes. Joining them as headliners are Florence + The Machine and Tyler, the Creator. Governors Ball 2019 takes place at Randall’s Island Park from Friday, May 31 until Sunday, June 2.

Other names on the Governors Ball 2019 lineup include Nas, SZA, Lil Wayne, BROCKHAMPTON, Major Lazer, The 1975, Gesaffelstein, Kacey Musgraves, Jorja Smith, Blood Orange, ZHU, Vince Staples, Louis the Child, Kaytranada, and Sheck Wes.

Other standout Pass The Aux favorites on the lineup include Lord Huron, King Princess, Mitski, The Internet, Elohim, Bob Moses, Charli XCX, Soccer Mommy, Sunflower Bean, and U.S. Girls.

It seems as though Governors Ball has completely ditched left-of-center bookings from the past like Air and The Avalanches in favor of more mainstream pop and hip-hop bookings. There’s some good indie rock buried deep on the undercard. This festival knows who they cater to — trust-fund NYC teenagers. I’ve checked out of ever going back to Governors Ball after a couple bad experiences with crowds there. But if you’re a teen or early twentysomething this lineup probably fits your interests.

Three-day general admission tickets are $305 ($275 on lineup announce day), with three-day VIP currently costing $705 ($600 on announce day). VIP Plus tickets are $1,950.
