James Blake to play three intimate church gigs in December

James Blake has announced two three intimate dates at a beautiful church in Koreatown to close out the year!

Last winter, Blake played multiple sold-out shows at the Hollywood Palladium. This December, he’s giving a handful of fans an opportunity to see him at the cozy Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian in Los Angeles on Friday, December 8 and Saturday, December 9. UPDATE: A THIRD SHOW HAS BEEN ADDED FOR SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10.

The Colour in Anything came out in 2016 and was a major step in Blake’s progression as an artist. The album featured Bon Iver and Kanye West and also featured Rick Rubin as a producer. Aside from the two LA gigs, Blake’s only remaining shows are three dates at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco. I caught him play a grand piano set at Neuehouse earlier this year, one of the best 30 minutes of live music I saw all year.

Opening all three shows is psychpop musician Connan Mockasin.

Tickets to see James Blake on December 8 and December 9 at the Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian go on sale Friday, October 20 at 10 AM Pacific Time. There is a Thursday, October 19 pre-sale at 10 AM with the password APPLAUSE. Tickets are priced at $49.50 plus fees. Tickets to the recently announced December 10 show go on sale Tuesday, October 24 at 10 AM Pacific Time.
