Jenny Lewis drops new single from upcoming album ‘On The Line’

After making us wait quite a bit, Valley-based indie rock queen Jenny Lewis has shared the first single from her first solo album in nearly five years.

Titled “Red Bull & Hennessy”, Jenny Lewis comes out the gate immediately with some powerhouse vocals. Her backing studio band for On The Line — which drops Mar. 22 via Warner Bros. — featured Ringo Starr, Ryan Adams, Beck, Benmont Tench, Don Was, and Jim Keltner. “Red Bull & Hennessy” is a groovy song totally indicative of what you’ll get on the rest of the album, I can confirm. Listen to the new song below:

The album’s artwork is a close-up of Jenny Lewis from the neck down to her thighs, dressed in a vintage looking outfit you might have seen Cher in on the Sonny & Cher show.

Jenny has already announced a hefty spring tour that begins Mar. 26 in Bloomington, which includes a May 11 date at the Hollywood Palladium. She’s added a Feb. 1 appearance at The Wiltern as part of Live From Here with Chris Thile, also announcing she will be supporting longtime friends Death Cab for Cutie on select dates in June. Find all her tour dates below.

From being ringside at the Manny Pacquiao-Adrien Broner fight on Saturday in Las Vegas to dropping her first single from her new album, it’s been a whirlwind few days for everyone’s favorite stoner indie rock chick.
