Lykke Li supergroup with Miike Snow duo share new song

I’ve been waiting for new music from Lykke Li ever since her epic 2014 album I Never Learn. The Swedish singer has been quiet musically, having birthed her first child in the past year or so. Now we’ve got a new room from the Lykke Li supergroup LIV to enjoy.

The song “Wings of Love” takes on a very Fleetwood Mac style. In fact, in an interview with NYLON, the singer referred to the band as “the lovechild between ABBA and Fleetwood Mac” — beautiful. The group also features Andrew Wyatt and Pontus Winnberg of Miike Snow, Björn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John and her husband Jeff Bhasker. Bhasker was a producer on Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak record.

It’s a very exciting development as Lykke Li  is someone who has just appreciated like a fine wine with age. Each album has been better than the last. This project’s first released song is definitely a promising sign of things to come and we really can’t wait to hear more. Apparently this group popped up for a performance at a private party in Los Angeles. Color me jealous for not being there. The Swedish singer is also apparently brewing her own mezcal.

I love that Lykke Li and all parties involved have taken a step out of their comfort zones for this project. It doesn’t sound like Miike Snow or Lykke Li at all — except for her beautiful vocals, of course.
