Middle Kids announce debut album, June gig at Lodge Room

Aussie three-piece rockers Middle Kids have announced the date for their much-anticipated debut record — and a tour that includes a stop in Los Angeles this summer.

The record is called Lost Friends and will drop May 4 via Domino Records. It features three songs from their critically-acclaimed self-titled EP from last year — “Edge of Town”, “Never Start”, and “Fire In Your Eyes” — three songs that showcase the depth of their songwriting.

They’ve also shared the first new song from the record called “Mistake”, which you can give watch the video for below. It features singer Hannah Joy’s unique and mesmerizing voice at the forefront of a upbeat jam perfect for a nice road trip. Find “Mistake” on your streaming service of choice here.

“You’re standing out in the rain tonight / Like you got something to say to God,” Joy rips into the chorus singing — and it’s the ultimate driving alone in your car and shouting your problems into the ether song of the year.

Middle Kids will kick off a North American tour at the start of June that includes a show at the Lodge Room in Highland Park on Tuesday, June 26. Tickets to the all-ages show go on sale Friday, February 2 at 10 AM Pacific Time and are priced at $15. Doors open at 8 PM.

You can also catch Middle Kids on the festival circuit this year. You can catch them at Governors Ball 2018 as well as Firefly 2018. I really loved seeing them at Life is Beautiful 2017 where they wowed me with a stripped-back set in one of the sponsored tents.
