Speculation began over a new Adele album earlier in the year over rumored comments that were made at a friend’s wedding — but it looks as though we’ll be waiting at least until next year for the follow-up to 2015’s 25.
She had said “Expect my album in September” but the coronavirus has forced many others’ plans to shift their album release dates, and the British singer will likely be affected as well. Adele’s manager Jonathan Dickins suggested we won’t be seeing her record in September as hoped. “It isn’t coming in September, it’ll be ready when it’s ready,” he told MusicWeek in an interview.
Reports now suggest that the much expected new album from Adele will be slotted for December at the earliest. However, SBD has set the odds at -200 that the Covid-19 pandemic will push it back even further to 2021.
“We’re all in the same boat, you’re doing stuff and then all of a sudden, the world stops. It’ll come when it’s ready. I can’t put a date on that yet. We have music, but we’re still working.”
It means that Adele was likely working on her new record as the coronavirus pandemic struck. It is unknown just where the singer was in the process at the time of the pandemic.
Adele was seen in Las Vegas back in February attending the boxing mega-fight of fellow countryman Tyson Fury, who vanquished Deontay Wilder in their highly anticipated rematch.
The singer hasn’t let the covid-19 crisis keep her down, taking to Instagram to offer praise for television show “I May Destroy You”.
“‘I May Destroy You’ is the best thing I’ve seen on British TV for yeaaaarssss!!” she captioned the post. “It’s wholesome, uncomfortable, hilarious but terribly sad and then awkward… and then it makes you cough a bit for no reason and also makes you go put the kettle on, for no reason. You might pretend you need a pee and then you get a bit itchy, then it makes you ask your girls things you haven’t before. And then makes you want to run out in the street and laugh so hard like mad til you cry for absolute hours! I’ve never felt so many emotions at once! Absolutely fantastic!”
Here’s hoping we see that new record as soon as possible!
