After touring for the first time as a solo artist last month, Warpaint guitarist and vocalist Theresa Wayman will play a hometown show this month under her TT moniker. Even better — it’s free!
Wayman dropped her full-length solo debut LoveLaws via her own Love Leaks label along with Caroline International. The album finds Wayman exploring a more trip-hop vibe than the groovy psych rock jams she co-authored as part of Warpaint.
I was beginning to wonder when she’d bring her live show to her Los Angeles hometown and now we have an answer. She will play a free show at the MOCA on Thursday, June 21. Spaceland Presents have thrown one of these the third Thursday of the last couple of months, with The Marias headlining the most recent one on May 17.
Opening the show will be Brooklyn hardcore noise rock trio Wives. The Honey Power collective will be serving up some DJ sets. The event runs from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM and is free with RSVP.
