Third Eye Blind to play debut album in full, book Greek

Alt-rock favorites Third Eye Blind have announced a new tour, which includes a date at the Greek Theatre in July. Even better, the band announced they will play their debut self-titled record in its entirety to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Though Stephan Jenkins remains the only founding member in Third Eye Blind, it’ll be awesome to see him sing the classic album from front to back. One of my all-time favorite songs of theirs is the deep cut “The Background,” which hasn’t been played much in recent years. “Burning Man” hasn’t been played in full since 1998. “London” has only been played a handful of times since the album’s initial release.

The band plays at the Greek Theatre on Thursday, July 20. The tour features Silversun Pickups as an opening act. Tickets go on sale Thursday, January 26.

I saw the band play Bonnaroo and Outside Lands last year — and the nostalgia of singing along to all their hits made for a great time. The band will also perform at this year’s Shaky Knees Fest in Atlanta in May. See their full list of tour dates below.
