Goldenvoice has announced This Ain’t No Picnic, coming to Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA for two days, August 27 and 28, 2022 with headliners LCD Soundsystem and The Strokes with varied top billing from Le Tigre, Beach House, Kaytranada, Phoebe Bridgers, Jorja Smith and JUNGLE. The eclectic roster features something for everyone including IDLES, Four Tet + Floating Points, Honey Dijon, Wet Leg, Genesis Owusu, Courtney Barnett, Descendents, Yves Tumor, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Caroline Polachek, Turnstile, Mac DeMarco, Slow Thai, Earl Sweatshirt, Magdalena Bay, Queen Naija and many more at six stages.
The sixth stage is for Despacio, a custom built disco sound system designed by James Murphy and his team. The event also marks the first performance for rock band Le Tigre in over 15 years.
This Ain’t No Picnic launched in 1999 (the same year as Coachella), with headliners Sonic Youth, Sleater-Kinney and Guided by Voices. The 2000 festival featured Beck, Yo La Tengo, Built To Spill and Modest Mouse and both were based in Irvine, CA.
