WATCH: Lykke Li debuts new songs at intimate Moroccan Lounge gig

The Lykke Li show Tuesday night at the Moroccan Lounge is a great reason why I pee sitting down — let me explain.

I was taking a tinkle last week and scrolling my timeline on Twitter when alas! A tweet appeared saying LYKKE LI is playing the MOROCCAN LOUNGE and tickets are on sale NOW! Had I not been looking at that moment, I surely wouldn’t have been able to snatch them up.

It was the Swedish pop singer’s first show in three-plus years, and she debuted three new songs at the gig. We’ve got video of two of the new songs below! Also at this show, iconic actress Meryl Streep and awesome musician Twin Shadow were in the crowd.

The first unreleased song “Two Nights” came midway through the set. You can watch that one below. It’s got a ’90s club banger aspect to it. The bass was a bit heavy but you can still hear Lykke Li’s vocals float effortlessly over the top. The studio version features Amine. Listen below:

Later, Lykke Li debuted the title track from her much-anticipated upcoming album So Sad So Sexy, which is set to drop next month on June 8. This one sounds like a potential club banger — check it out below.

Lykke Li went deep into the catalog for her hour-plus long show, arriving on stage on a black leather jacket and dyed blonde hair like she had never disappeared. There were no signs of music from her recent side project LIV, but fans were more than happy with what she gave them. She closed her set with another new non-single but we will leave that to mystery!

Lykke Li’s new album So Sad So Sexy drops June 8 via RCA Records!
