Wiz Khalifa brings heat to Life is Beautiful 2018 pre-party at The Foundry

What better way to kick off a festival weekend than with Wiz Khalifa and free Doritos?

The chip company knows their branding — they partnered with Life is Beautiful 2018 and Wiz Khalifa for a party celebrating their new BLAZE chip flavor. And if anything goes together like peanut butter and jelly, it’s Wiz Khalifa and blazing. The show took place at the beautiful and intimate venue The Foundry at the SLS Hotel in downtown Las Vegas — just a couple blocks from where the festival kicks off Friday.

Busta Rhymes hosted the finals of the Doritos “Blaze the Beat” competition, a hip-hop battle of five finalists that was ultimately won by 23-year-old Enoch Tolbert of Philadelphia. He won a $50,000 grand prize, beating out Edwin Morrow, 37, Atlanta; Terry Fox, 33, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Carly Exume, 19, Long Island, NY; and Tye Cooper, 24, Providence, R.I.

Wiz Khalifa capped things off with a nearly hour-long performance where he ran through all of this hits, from “Black and Yellow” to “Work Hard, Play Hard”, and at least a dozen more in between. Wiz has the bars live, this isn’t some mumble rapper that lets the track do all the work.

Wiz Khalifa shouted out Busta Rhymes as being one of his favorite rappers ever and for influencing him to be who he is and not apologize for it, and to also “smile while you do it because you look better when you smile.”

Rising hip-hop acts Taylor Bennett, and London on da Track also performed brief sets throughout the night

Attendees also walked away with a free bag or three of the new Doritos Blaze chips, as if seeing a free Wiz Khalifa show wasn’t enough. Not a bad Thursday night before Life is Beautiful 2018 officially kicks off today.
