Aussie singer-songwriter Angie McMahon was back in LA this past Friday, this time with her full band in tow at the Troubadour!
We talked to Angie ahead of her show late last year at the Moroccan Lounge where she performed mostly solo. Bringing her full band meant added depth to her performance, but with the same level of intimacy that we got at her solo show.
Her album Light, Dark, Light Again that dropped last October is one of the strongest efforts we’ve heard in years and it was wonderful hearing the songs the way they were intended, with the full band.
Angie gives us War on Drugs vibes on many of the songs from this new album, particularly on our favorite track “Letting Go”. Her Chrissie Hynde vocal style gives us nostalgia for the 80s in the absolute best way.
