Chelsea Wolfe toured the U.S. in support of Ministry back in the spring, but that run bypassed Los Angeles in favor of Anaheim. How fortuitous, then, that she has just announced a fall headlining tour, which includes a stop at The Regent Theater in downtown L.A. on Oct. 4.
Wolfe’s fifth album Hiss Spun dropped last fall, and it’s her heaviest showing yet. The genre-blurring artist continually evades traditional classification, interweaving doom, folk, drone, stoner rock and metal throughout her rich discography. A common thread through her sonic experimentation is a gripping contrast between the brutal and the delicate — the demonic versus the angelic — that makes for a primal, cathartic experience, especially live.
Supporting Wolfe are Sargent House label mates Russian Circles. The Chicago-based instrumental trio mixes post-rock with elements of Krautrock, metal and post-hardcore for a dramatic, hard-hitting sound. Pro tip: if an artist is signed to Sargent House, then they are guaranteed to be unique and worth a listen. Wolfe previously collaborated with Russian Circles on the track “Memorial”, inciting hopes that she will join them onstage for live renditions.
Tickets for the 18 and over show at The Regent are on sale now for $25.50 plus fees via Ticketfly, and are sure to sell-out. Doors open at 8 PM, with the show scheduled to start at 9 PM
Wolfe will also return to Southern California to haunt Desert Daze with Warpaint, Tame Impala, Jarvis Cocker, Death Grips and so many more. The sure-to-be legendary festival takes place Oct. 12-14 at Lake Perris. Click here for tickets and additional information.
